Beach Clean-Up Initiatives

Georgia, with its picturesque Black Sea coastline, has been facing significant environmental challenges, including pollution and marine litter. The program emphasizes regional cooperation in addressing land-based nutrient, chemical, and plastic pollution and aims to foster sustainable practices in sectors such as fisheries, shipping, and tourism​​.

To ensure the cleanliness of Georgia’s coastal areas, special equipment has been installed in the Natanebi River to keep its waters clean before joining the Black Sea. This equipment is capable of capturing rubbish and petroleum products floating on the river surface, significantly reducing the amount of waste entering the Black Sea. This initiative represents a proactive approach to preventing coastal pollution​​.
