Description

The adventure begins at your hotel, where your personal guide meets you. The first notable stop is Metekhi Church, an ancient ecclesiastical site perched above the Mtkvari River, where you learn about its inception in the 5th century and its significance throughout Georgia’s storied past.

Continuing to Rike Park, you'll take the cable car to ascend to the Narikala Fortress. This fortress, a historical sentinel for Tbilisi, offers a commanding view of the cityscape below. Within walking distance from the fortress is the iconic Mother of Georgia statue, "Kartlis Deda." This imposing figure symbolizes the Georgian national character, holding a sword in one hand for enemies and a bowl of wine in the other to greet friends, embodying the nation's welcoming spirit.

After visiting the Mother of Georgia, your descent takes you through Botanical Street, leading to a historic mosque that reflects the city’s diverse cultural fabric. The path then winds through the lush Legvtakhevi canyon, ending at a secluded waterfall.

Next, the tour ventures into the sulfur baths district of Abanotubani, legendary for its thermal springs that led to the city’s founding. The stroll continues to Meidani Square, once a focal point for public gatherings and proclamations, now surrounded by lively cafes and shops.

Optionally, enrich your historical understanding with a stop at the Karvasla - Tbilisi History Museum on Shardeni Street (closed on Monday), before exploring further landmarks such as the Sioni Cathedral and the modern Bridge of Peace.

Your day concludes near Liberty Square at the Galleria Tbilisi, where the past and present of Tbilisi inspire plans for future visits.
