Description

Your adventure begins with a private pickup from your hotel in Tbilisi at 8:30 AM, setting out towards the northern reaches of the country along the historic Georgian Military Highway. As you travel, the urban landscape gives way to the rolling hills and deep reservoirs that herald the approach to the Ananuri Fortress Complex. Here, you'll delve into Georgia's feudal history, exploring the fortress’s robust towers and churches, set against the backdrop of the tranquil Zhinvali Reservoir.

Continuing north, the road climbs through the rugged terrain towards Gudauri, a popular ski resort nestled high in the Caucasus Mountains. This segment of your journey offers a spectacular perspective of Georgia's natural splendor, with stops at the Peace Monument and Jvari Pass, where the land stretches out into breathtaking panoramas.

Upon arriving in Stepantsminda, a charming town beneath the imposing silhouette of Mount Kazbegi, you pause for a lunch of local specialties like Khinkali. This meal provides not just sustenance, but also a taste of local culinary traditions, in a setting that is as picturesque as it is authentic.

Post-lunch, the tour takes a spiritual turn with a visit to the Gergeti Trinity Church, perched at an elevation of 2170 meters. The church is not only a religious site but also a vantage point offering one of the most awe-inspiring views in all of Georgia. Optional activities include a visit to the Stepantsminda History Museum in the village, offering insights into the local heritage. Alternatively, embark on a drive about 10 km outside the village to explore the Dariali Gorge. Here, you can enjoy a nature walk to the serene Gveleti waterfall, nestled deep within the gorge's lush surroundings.

The journey continues with a visit to the Dariali Monastery, an important spiritual site near the Georgia-Russia border. Surrounded by the dramatic cliffs and dense forests of the gorge, this visit provides a moment of tranquility and reflection.

After soaking in the spiritual and natural beauty of the area, you will be comfortably transported back to Tbilisi, arriving in the evening with memories of a truly personal and profound travel experience.
