Description

Your journey begins with a pickup from your Tbilisi hotel, setting out early to capture the morning light casting its golden glow over the Georgian landscape. Our first destination is the Chronicle of Georgia, a towering monument perched atop a hill overlooking the Tbilisi Sea. Here, the bronze figures narrate Georgia's rich religious and historical saga against the backdrop of the Kartli mountains.

As we move towards Mtskheta, Georgia's former capital, the Jvari Monastery first captures our attention. This architectural masterpiece, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, was built in the 6th century and stands as a prime example of early Georgian Christian architecture. It marks the spot where Saint Nino, a Cappadocian missionary, erected a symbolic cross, initiating the conversion of Georgia to Christianity. The monastery is perched high above the confluence of the Aragvi and Mtkvari rivers, offering breathtaking panoramic views of Mtskheta below.

Continuing through Mtskheta, we visit the Antioquia Church, a hidden gem with layers of history stretching back to the early centuries of Christianity. This recently restored basilica has been a silent witness to the various epochs that have shaped Georgia, embodying the resilience and continuous cultural flow of the region.

Our journey culminates at the Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, another UNESCO World Heritage Site. This 11th-century marvel is one of the largest Eastern Orthodox cathedrals in the world. Known as the burial site of Christ's robe, Svetitskhoveli has been the spiritual nucleus of Georgia for centuries. The cathedral's significance extends beyond its religious importance; it also serves as the final resting place for several Georgian monarchs, intertwining Georgia’s royal and religious histories.

These iconic sites, recognized by UNESCO for their historical and cultural significance, showcase the rich spiritual heritage and the architectural ingenuity of Georgia, making our tour a journey through time and faith.

Post-lunch in a local eatery — where you can savor Khachapuri and other Georgian delicacies — we'll return to Tbilisi for the afternoon. The city tour begins at Europe Square, followed by a cable car ride to Narikala Fortress, offering sprawling views of Tbilisi. Descend through the ancient bath district to the vibrant Shardeni Street and cross the modern Bridge of Peace, ending your day with a reflective walk through Rike Park before we escort you back to your hotel.

Immerse yourself in a private tour that not only explores but celebrates the spirit of Georgia, ensuring a travel experience that resonates long after you return home.
