After meeting your guide at your hotel, a scenic drive through the picturesque landscapes of Imereti takes you to Ambrolauri. Here, set in the heart of Racha region, begins your adventure. Your guide, equipped with extensive local knowledge and rafting expertise, will ensure you’re fully prepped with the necessary equipment—a paddle, helmet, life jacket, and wetsuit—all before you even touch the water.
As the boat slips into the Rioni, your guide leads you through the initial calm waters, setting the pace for what becomes a heart-thumping journey downstream. The river, fueled by the spring's snowmelt, offers a vibrant and dynamic course. In spring, experience the exhilarating 26-kilometer (16-mile) route where rapid waters challenge your skills. As summer progresses and the waters mellow, the route shortens to 20 kilometers (12.4 miles), welcoming even young adventurers over 12 years old with a softer, yet still captivating experience.
